Welcome to Google calendar!

Google calendar is part of the Google apps suite of applications. This training module is 1 of 5 total training modules covered in this entire GoogleBig5 tutorial suite. The other four covered in this tutorial suite are Google Docs, Google Sites, Google Picasa and Google Blogger. Google Calendar is the scheduling application. Why should you use Google Calendar? Well, it’s easy to share your schedule with co-workers, family and friends, and its interface makes for easy access to your calendar on the go. It is integrated very closely with Google Gmail. For that reason, it is advisable that you go ahead and set up a free Gmail account prior to starting this training module.

A Word of Caution

Please know that the browser you are using may affect the quality of your Google Calendar experience. There have been some snags with using some of the other Google apps with Internet Explorer, so you may want to take that as a precaution, and consider using Firefox or Safari if you come into problems along the way. Throughout this training module, I will be using Safari.
